A Friendship Recipe

This is a card I`ve made for my friend Jane who`s birthday it is today. I`ve used one of the new LOTV stamps that I purchased at the NEC last Thursday. I`ve coloured the image with distress inks, the backing paper is SU and the punch is Martha Stewart Doily Lace. The ribbon is plain satin that I`ve just ruffled onto a strip of double sided tape and I made the cupcake embellishment using SU scallop and tag punches.
The NEC was a fab experience, this is the first time I`d gone to the spring show, I usually just make a once a year pilgrimage in November but I`ll deffinately go again next spring. It was great to finally meet Monica Gale who is a SU demonstrator who`s blog I`ve been following for ages, she`s a lovely lady and it was brilliant to meet her in person.
I probably spent way too much but I am a lost cause especially when it comes to stamps LOL ! I also stocked up on some essentials as well as some lovely new ribbon and embellies.
Well, I`m off to drop Jane`s card and prezzie round to her now, thanks for visiting, bye for now and happy crafting xxx

Fluffy Cat !

This is a folded card sample I`ve done for my friend Kay Rutter to showcase the different folds you can create on her " Hougie Board " for those of you who haven`t got one of these tools I would highly recommend it. I`ve never been one for score boards so when she sent me one and asked me to create some samples for her, I had a play around with some existing folded card projects and found it so much easier to measure and fold them using this board, with inches on one side and centimetres on the other it is a fab tool and one I will continue to use again and again. She has converted me into a score board user !

I have no idea what the name for this fold is, I just call it a front centre panel card but it`s a very versatile fold.
The image and sentiment are from Penny Black which I got from the NEC last November and I`ve coloured using distress inks.
The backing paper is from Die Cuts With a View - Cat, Scrapbook in a stack. The flowers are Prima, the punch is Woodware and the linen thread for the banner is SU.
Just a simple little card this time, not too embellished which is a first for me LOL ! but as it`s a sample, I thought it best to keep it simple.

I`m off to the NEC tomorrow, I`ve never been to the spring show before so I`m looking forward to it, ( my wallet isn`t !! )
I have my eye on some of the new LOTV stamps so that will be my first stop as soon as I get there, after I`ve visited Kay`s stand and dropped off the samples I`ve done for her !
I`ll be busy over the weekend "playing" with my new stash, It`s a hard life for a crafter but I`m sure I`ll cope ! LOL,
bye for now and happy crafting xxx

Snuggles

Some of the DT got together over at Sir Stampalot yesterday and in between the chatting, the chocolate biscuits, the giggles, the chocolate biscuits and the shopping, did I mention the chocolate biscuits ! we actually got some card making done !
This is the card I made using one of the new Penny Johnson stamps called "Snuggles"
I have coloured the image using distress inks and highlighted here and there with 3D gloss. The backing paper is Kaiserkraft blushed - Desire. I used the Hougie Board to score the little rosettes ( I had to hold them down for a while beofre they stuck ) which gave me the time to eat another chocolate biscuit - did I mention those? LOL.
The border punch and ribbon used is SU and the little pearly brads are Do Crafts.

I bought a some lovely new papers while I was there and a new cutting die and some more stamps ( I know - I`m a hopeless case ! ) so I`m going to sit and play with those later on and see what I can come up with - now I`m not being distracted with chocolate biscuits !
Thanks for visiting, bye for now and Happy Crafting xxx

Cupcake Cutie

This is one of the new Wild Rose Studio stamps available from Sir Stampalot.I couldn`t resist this little cutie, he makes me smile. I`ve coloured him with distress inks and added a little 3D gloss to his scales and claws and the cherry on the cupcake and added a little diamond stickles to the cupcake sprinkles ( looks good enough to eat ! )
The backging paper is KaiserKraft, SU ribbon and Martha Stewart arched lattice border punch.

I made the little cupcake embellishment by punch a scallop border first and then using a scallop circle to overpunch it giving the little cupcake topping. The Cupcake base is the SU tag punch folded in half and stuck underneath. I`ve just added diamond stickles and dropped some tiny beads into it before it dried to give the sprinkles, the cherry is just a red brad covered in 3D gloss.

I`ve just bought one of the new Penny Johnson stamps which I haven`t had a chance to play with yet and I`ve fallen in love with the new LOTV stamps which I`m waiting to purchase when I go to the NEC at the end of this month hopefully.
Looks like I`m going to be busy very soon , watch this space!
thanks for looking in, bye for now and happy crafting xx

Hearts and Herbs

Here is another card I`ve done using the new Molly Blooms stamps available from Sir Stampalot - Molly with a heart and the herb box.
I`ve coloured the images with distress inks and added a bit of diamond stickles to the flower heads ( not sure it shows up too well in the photo !)
The background paper is from the new Magnolia collection and the heart and scallop heart are nestabilities. The flowers are Prima and Magnolia and the leaves are a fern craft punch also available from Sir Stampalot.
I love these new Molly Blooms stamps, they are great characters and so easy to colour. I`ve just been to see Clare Rowlands doing a demo with her Molly Blooms and got to meet her daughter, the real life Molly! Her cards and projects are so beautiful and it has given me a lot of inspiration to create.... Check out Clare`s Molly Blooms design blog in my side bar. >>>

I plan to spend the whole day tomorrow playing with some new Wild Rose Studio stamps that I bought today too ( I can craft guilt free because I got all my housework and ironing done this morning !) So watch this space!
bye for now and happy crafting xx
